In the NFL, a General Manager's fate and is hinged to the quarterback he hand picks to be the face of the franchise. It has gotten out of hand recently dating back to 2012, with the Rams, and Redskins blockbuster draft day trade which netted the Redskins their "savior" so, they thought. Not only is Robert Griffen III, no longer with the Redskins, hes with the Cleveland Browns, which is whole another blog for another time, but the GM, and the whole Coaching staff, have been dismissed. One trade had a ripple effect that has last a lasting imprint on both clubs. The Rams found that their way back into the world of Draft Day BlockBusters!! The newly named Los Angeles Rams, needed to make a splash to hype a revived fan base. The move they decided to make was to move up from pick 15 to pick 1 with a huge trade with the Titans, that saw Tennessee reap the benefits as they got 6 picks back , including a first round pick and third for next year as well for the Rams. The Rams, and Jeff Fisher, must view North Dakota State's Carson Wentz, or Cal's Jared Goff as their franchise quarterback that will lead them to the promise land. LA must hope and pray they got this one right, or we could be seeing drastic change in LA before it even has a chance to materialize. It's a what have you done for me lately type of league, and the old myth of drafting a rookie quarterback does not by a coaching staff time, as we saw was the case with Lovie Smith and the Bucs. Jeff Fisher is offically on the HotSeat.
