WGAO Franklin-FM, Broadcasting live from Dean College, its 11 oclock and im James Gargiulo with the power 88 news and sports updates. Workers placed the final steel beam of the Franklin Public Library addition Tuesday morning, marking a milestone in the project. A small crowd gathered to watch as the beam - along with a traditional pine tree and American flag - were hoisted to the top of the structure in a "topping off" ceremony.

In other news, Gloucester's police chief is being dubbed Chief texter? As he sent 653 texts in a single day. Of all the questions swirling around Gloucester's investigation into its police chief, one surely mystified anyone born before, say, 1985. Leonard Campanello, who agreed to retire Thursday after an investigation into his personal and professional conduct led to his suspension and likely eventual termination, somehow pulled this off on one workday last May, between 7 am and 10pm.

In sports, the Redsox fell to the Indians last night losing Game 1 of the American League division series 5-4, Rick Porcello was on bump for the Redsox going 4 and 1/3 giving up 6 hits and 5 earned runs. Game 2 is this afternoon in Cleveland with first pitch at 4:38 pm. The Patriots also travel to Cleveland to face off against the Browns in Tom Brady's long awaited return from suspension.
